This is another great example of eLearning 2.0. The Awareness platform includes tools such as blogs, wikis and social bookmarking / tagging.

Last week I presented a session at ASTD TechKnowledge entitled eLearning 2.0 - Applications and Implications. It could just as easily have been called Web 2.0 There were about 7 examples mentioned including Intuit using a Wiki-like system for customers to ask questions/get advice around taxes, using a group blog with students prior to a formal learning event, the US Army's use of collaboration tools to share best practices in Iraq, and several others. Web 2.0 Tools in the Enterprise

I first saw Andrew McAffee's post on uses of Web 2.0 where he talks about some of the issues with blogs within the enterprise and ends with: Wikis seem to have less baggage attached to them and that might partially (and only partially) explain their recent rise in use within the enterprise. The first uses of Wikis is as an easier content management system that houses reference material. It's just a really easy way for a group of people to put up web pages.

Will Blogs, Wikis, RSS, Mashups be Used in Corporate eLearning?

In this post, Dave unfortunately lumps together blogs, wikis, mashups, rss feed together (probably because eLearning 2.0 and web 2.0 However, I think the answer about adoption rates is going to be quite different for these things with Wikis and Mashups being adopted at a very high rate.
