The Blockchain Value Framework

Irving Wladawsky-Berger

In July, 2019, the World Economic Forum and Accenture released Building Value with Blockchain Technology , a white paper aimed at helping organizations evaluate blockchain’s benefits and build an effective business case. The white paper is based on a global survey of 550 individuals across 13 industries, including automotive, banking, and retail; interviews with CEOs and public sector leaders; and a detailed analysis of 79 blockchain projects.

Breaking the forest cycle

Dave Snowden

I’ve been meaning to write about the “forest cycle” or the supposed necessity of chaos for some time. Yesterday’s post on the different between the Cynefin framework and the Stacy Matrix reminded me of the need. The forest cycle appears in many popular books but probably one of the best illustrations is in Embracing Complexity by Jean Boulton, Peter Allen and Cliff Bowman. I know the first two authors but not the third.

filter success

Harold Jarche

Clay Shirky’s statement — “ It’s not information overload, it’s filter failure ” — is an oft-quoted line when discussing online sensemaking. I was discussing filters last week during an interview on personal knowledge mastery which will be used to inform a program we are developing for a client organization, a large global corporation.

mycorrhiza: Introduction

Dave Snowden

A mycorrhiza ia a symbiosis between a fungus and a green plant. The plant captures and transmits the energy of the sun to the fungus which reciprocates with water and various nutrients. The mycorrhiza entangles itself in the plants root system either internally or externally to the sells and the association may be mutualistic or in some circumstances parasitic. As regular readers of this blog will know I use the idea of symbiosis a lot and have been for years.
