I've been having fabulous conversations about using SharePoint. SharePoint is so flexible and the documentation for it is so big and diverse, that a big part of my goals have been to understand the different ways that training organizations are using SharePoint. In my post SharePoint Examples there are some great examples in the comments. In this post, I wanted to capture some of the patterns of use of SharePoint that seem to be emerging.

Patterns Defined While Klein uses the term "pattern", there is another definition of Patterns (or Design Patterns ) which is a great example of the kind of information that we can produce which is valuable and maybe is not a "best practice" but is close. However, in our debrief yesterday, both Jane and Charles reported that many attendees are only just starting to shift to delivering some eLearning. It reminds me a bit of the arguments about the loss of quality as you lose our instructional design and go to cheaper forms of delivery. When we asked the Big Question of Workplace Learning in 10 Years – the responses of many experts were that in 10 years there would be significantly shift from classroom to eLearning and virtual classroom, but combined total training dollars spent on traditional formal learning will be less in ten years.
