Nine Shift

Watch the 21st Century, Or Help Make it?

Nine Shift

Over a month since a blog entry, and the reason: I've been finishing a book with my brilliant co-author Julie Coates, creating UGotClass online courses, and working for trains. In the late 1960s, I always had this tough decision to make- - go to class, or go to the latest protest, concert, or meeting. Participate in the Sixties, or watch it? Same thing today. I love documenting the 21st century. But I also love participating in it. Tough day-by-day decision

In yesterday's blog entry, we talked about a great new study on the Generation Gap as reported by the Pew Research Center. What blogging was

David Weinberger

At a recent Fellows Hour at the Berkman Center the topic was something like “Whatever happened to blogging?,” ” with the aim of thinking about how Berkman can take better advantage of blogging as a platform for public discussion. They asked me to begin with some reflections on what blogging once was, because I am old. I understand that I’m reporting on how blogging looked to someone in a highly privileged position. My blog was me.

Blogging angst

Euen Semple

My friend Dave Tebbutt is wondering whether to give up his blog or not. Many of us over the years go through periods of questioning why we blog and if it is worth it. For me the biggest reason to blog is personal. If I don’t blog I don’t think as much, or at least not with as much focus. I don’t think it even matters where you blog these days. This is because just linking to my blog posts seemed unreasonable.
