So, of course, I went to eLearning Learning and I looked at Wiki , Collaborative Learning with Wikis , Wikis and eLearning 2.0 , Wikis Corporate eLearning , Social Learning with Wikis , Wiki Security and a few others. I received an email asking me if I knew of any Wikis that provided information on eLearning concepts. there's not really a place where you can find a Wiki that covers eLearning concepts. However, Wikipedia has some issues (as does any public Wiki) as a place for defining these terms. vendors posting a link to their product) vs. being a comprehensive resource vs. being too leading edge. I ran across an article by Bob Mosher in CLO entitled: Moving from One to Many that discusses the disconnect of what LMS products are focusing on "competency mapping and effective resource management" vs. what Bob sees as the overall industry trend - "industry shifting its overall training focus away from skills acquisition to an overall strategy of project-based and outcome-driven learning." Making LMS products bigger, more complex is likely the exactly wrong way to go.

I think that Mind Manager is a terrific product but since I really started using about 3 different computers on a regular basis with at least one of them being very locked down, Ive also been using MINDOMO and have been very impressed. A couple of items of note that have been languishing in my tabs for a while now include: How a dashboard map supercharged the productivity of a team of project leaders : I love using mindmaps as front-ends to data.

Normally I run Zone Alarms security suite of products and I generally think they are the best out there - they are certainly better than Norton in terms of being Norton being such a resource hog. My problem, beyond the obvious, is that the response from Zone Alarm acts as if this is just something that happens all the time (probably does) but worse than that - that it is somehow acceptable to create a product that routinely kills multiple hours of customers time fixing the problem!
