My Two Top 2008 Technologies

Andy McAfee

Photo of Andrew McAfee Home Blog About RSS Andrew McAfees Blog The Business Impact of IT Tweet My Two Top 2008 Technologies by Andrew McAfee on December 30, 2008 For a year-end post I’d rather not try to recap the year in technology, or in anything else. Let’s be honest — with the exception of our truly historic presidential election much of the noteworthy news of 2008 was bad to really bad.

Last Year's Predictions For 2008, Reviewed

Stephen Downes: Half an Hour

It's the end of 2008, and while most people are predicting what will happen in 2009 , I look back at those who predicted 2008. As for e-learning, 2008 was a year in which very little actually occurred(even in gaming, the headline reads Old Standby Back On Top ). Ultimately, time is one of our most valuable resources, and I am hopeful that in 2008 it will be easier to learn, as well as to create and locate high-quality learning content.

Learning 2.0 Strategy

Clark Quinn

That said, there is almost always some technology (Wiki, blog, RSS, etc.) Over the past two years, I've worked with start-ups and corporations around the world who are grappling a bit with the impact of Web 2.0 on learning. One of the more interesting aspects of this is that I've really changed and refined what I advise both audiences in terms of their learning 2.0 strategy. But, here's what I see in terms of a CLO perspective. Seven Key Aspects of Learning 2.0 Strategy 1.

Here's what he said: I just don't get why folks are trying to lump in wikis, blogs, rss, etc. RSS, Blog, Wikis, etc. But when you come out and essentially say that there's nothing that interesting about Wikis, Blogs and RSS when it comes to learning or Learning. This has been hanging around in my RSS feed with a must blog tag attached to it for several months now. It's Margaret Atwood talking about debt, not just in the context of financial crisis, but its whole relationship to slavery, social equity and our relationship with the planet out of which we eke an increasingly precarious existence.
