It’s hard to believe, even for myself, how the last time I wrote a blog post over here was a bit over two months ago. However, it doesn’t even feel totally awkward, as it used to be in the past, whenever I embarked on a longish blogging hiatus of sorts.

Blog Discussion

Dave Ferguson just raised the issue of blog discussion that has come up before when I talk about Learning and Networking with a Blog. The issue he raises in Mandatory Blogging is: Here at your own blog, you often have extended discussions. Dave points out that given the 90-9-1 Rule he's not likely to get much dialog by creating a blog, posting and waiting for comments. I actually think Dave has a pretty good blog.

Last Year's Predictions For 2008, Reviewed

Stephen Downes: Half an Hour

It's the end of 2008, and while most people are predicting what will happen in 2009 , I look back at those who predicted 2008. As for e-learning, 2008 was a year in which very little actually occurred(even in gaming, the headline reads Old Standby Back On Top ). As Dave Cormier summarized , it was the year in which blogging declined, Wikipedia became old, people still didn't get it, and tentative experiments - MUVEs and MOOCs - showed only hints of what is to come.

Learning 2.0 Strategy

Clark Quinn

That said, there is almost always some technology (Wiki, blog, RSS, etc.) I'd be curious what you'd add to the list Over the past two years, I've worked with start-ups and corporations around the world who are grappling a bit with the impact of Web 2.0 on learning. One of the more interesting aspects of this is that I've really changed and refined what I advise both audiences in terms of their learning 2.0 strategy. But, here's what I see in terms of a CLO perspective.

To-Learn Lists

Clark Quinn

This month’s Learning Circuit’s Big Question is on: To-Learn Lists. It appears that most of us (as is the case with me) don't keep a formal / tracked to learn list. Rather its an informal, ever changing list. However, the danger of not having a more formal list that is tied to goals means that likely they are not getting integrated into the to-do list and into daily lives. This is time allocation based rather than to-do list based.
