Last week LinkedIn reached a significant milestone: 100 million users. On the occasion LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman sent out an email to the first 100,000 users thanking them for being early adopters. LinkedIn seemed to me to be one of the most promising newcomers. For many people social networking is a recent phenomenon.

Some are more closed on LinkedIn, I have friends and colleagues, don’t use Facebook, etc. In fact, such a policy really is part of your personal knowledge mastery.

Every publication we encounter presents procreation as a cute and cuddly experience, all pink and powder blue, at best an interior decorating opportunity, at worst a housekeeping challenge. Yes, Babble was not a commercial success on the level of Facebook or LinkedIn or Zynga. Content sites don't have that kind of scalability.

Many of the questions to the panel after our presentations were about this theme. Shared online reservation systems like Dimmi’s ResDiary, as well as social media sites liked LinkedIn and good old Google searches, can be a double-edged sword.
